Poetarrati — 1& 2 is an ensemble of poems.

Finally, back to work on from Monday the 11th, amid the COVID 19 lockdown. It took almost a month to do something definitive. Got my first book out. The feeling is a sense of accomplishment, finally, putting together a decade of work into a definite product and publishing it.

About the book: Poetarrati Volume 1 & 2:

After a decade of poetry, it made sense to share it with the larger world. The key challenge was to collecting from various sources I had written, and then compiling. It was mayhem. The world of book publishing is a world by itself. Writing is one part, publishing is another. The book essentially has two volumes. The first volume is an assortment of poems written over the last decade. The second volume is an evolving theme of romance. A character called ‘Angel’ becomes the theme. The poet woos, raves, rants and finally is heart broken and finally dies.

The publishing process:

I have been researching multiple options, and finally, chose Amazon as my international and ebook publisher. I went with ‘notion press’ for the Indian paperback edition. The experience has been invigorating. There were few mistakes in preparing the manuscript and the cover, but eventually got them across the line. The key challenge was to format and make meaning out of what was a litter of poems to a proper product.

My next two volumes, expected December 2020, will be with the same publishers, given the positive experience.

Promotion:

This is currently work in progress. As I delve deeper into the promotion, I learn a lot of things. Mainly focusing on organic promotions and word of mouth for now, we have a facebook page and a Youtube channel in the name of ‘Poetarrati’. Since COVID containment measures are in place, most of our efforts are digital. Promotion and book coverage journey is a long haul effort, and hence we are working out plans accordingly.
