Peter Van Geit — This is dedicated to you. I am one of your fans and a last-bench runner at Chennai Runners. I love the work you have done and follow your posts on Ultra Marathon, Trekking, and discovery of the unexplored hinterlands. But more than everything, I love the human that you are. Finally, happy to see you with your mother of 92.

Poem: YOUR LAP IS MY NEST

Six years… seventy-two months
To reach your lap, mother
Your lap is still warm, I find
Thanks to those who were kind
Your fingers trembling
Your hands wrinkled
But your eyes filled with love
your hugs are as warm as ever
Just the way I remembered
When I left you, six years ago

I want to tell you
a lot of stories about -
Mountains I conquered
Strangers that I met
The love that they shared
Skies that I touched
Yet, the day comes
when I want to return
to my favorite nest
your lap to rest

A wall so tall
Neither could I cross
nor could I fly
I tried, dear mom
I knew your nineties
but the wall never heard
Nor had the empathy
But there were souls
that wished me well
Became the winds
beneath my wings
For I finally flew
to my home to rest
Mom, dear Mom,
your lap is my nest.

After 6 long years finally reunited again with Mom, 92 years young. Thanks to the 30 thousand people who supported my public appeal (https://lnkd.in/gAMweg_4) and foremost Ashok Daniel and his dad who have moved mountains to make this possible. Mom sends her love to all of you.
