This post is dedicated to Priya Patel and Sakshi Arora. The duo have kept at it, and joining the bandwagon is a privilege for me. Here is the previous interaction.

Poem: What if game

I’ve spent the last 10 years
repeating the what-if name
In fact, I’ve become quite
the expert in playing this game;
a game where everything
seems to go wrong

Like a broken record,
I sing the same annoying song
over and over again
this is where I belong
I’m playing the what-if game

what if I had begged her
to stay at home that night,
Then Mom would be alive
and everything would be alright

what if I had fallen in love
with someone other
then whom I did
then I wouldn’t have
the two most amazing kids

what if I had stayed
and what if I had prayed
what if I had been healthier
and what if I had tried harder
then maybe I’d be smarter

and there wouldn’t be
so many what-ifs
in my everyday life ….

Dear Priya, I know these verses can never replace the challenges in your life, but they could act as a valve somewhere.

Poem: Three Verses

what if we three could
Keep on writing these verses
We poem the world
