Poem: Walking Together in Time

If I could walk back in time…I wish. But…now, the present…I want to just hold on.

Poem: Walking Together in Time

If I could turn back that clock
I would hold your hands and walk
If pages could turn, why not corners
A long wait now for that time together.

Different paths, prints in the sands of time
Years roll by, from youth to just past prime
A thought like a drop, a bubbly stream flows on
Two rails, parallel before; now meet at the horizon

The twine shall meet, in Rumi’s place
A world beyond, engraved, yet without a trace
Whispers in between, our smiles tell tales
In these moments today, the thirty years pale.

The unison heartbeats, verses so written
A rhapsody of sorts, frozen and smitten
In the world of purple — an inexplicable favorite
Holding on to it, my dear, will all our might.
