When you were near me, I gave it all. The scent of love. Yet, you fly away. You are such an unworthy recipient of my love.

Poem: UNWORTHY RECIPIENT

Have you ever smelled love?
I have. But I can’t describe it.
Overwhelming and addictive.
Yes. Addictive.
I soaked in that addiction.
Addiction to giving love.
Smiling, like the spring blossoms.
The aroma of love
filled my lungs.
I was breathing…love -
all by myself.

Unrequited it may be
But you were the bee
and consumed my honey
Those wicked winks
and wonderful words
Still buzz in my ears
A little tuck and nibble
that indelible love bite
my mind flew a kite

So…
I could never dream
of you go away flying
And it was just a fling
I still smell of love
giddy and dancing
in the slow breeze

But -
you the bumble bee
that stumbled on me
is the unworthy recipient
of my heart full of love.
