Poem: TWO SIDE DIME

Sunset, grey skies and rainbows
Yet the sweltering heat condenses as sweat
A little drop of tear — tasting salty too
I warmed up to a deep sigh from my soul
The heart strains under the weight of words
I could swallow a bitter pill or even … poison
Undeniably, the words came from where it matters
Truth — even if it is not, if anybody else I wouldn’t care
I am carrying the cross of an authentic hypocrite
Unbelievable — I think — but my thoughts again…
I don’t want to exhale again — for I will poison the air
Some questions are that — don’t have straight answers
Yet, here I am — my words, unworthy of a dime
Spillover on screen just like they always have
For there is no one who has seldom sinned
Even forgiveness can’t change the fact
That I am a worthless, two-sided dime.
