Poem: The Yellow Flame

The poem was inspired by a photograph.

It is a song of love, kindled by a flame yellow. I have added a representative picture, a beautiful one. Hope you like the poem and the protagonist gets back his yellow flame.

It has been a while
Since I said ‘hello’,
To the lady who goes
In bright and light yellow.

There was a time
My heart was in her hands;
A voyage that our souls
embarked upon to faraway lands.

Like all good things
Perhaps, too good to last;
Soon enough our voyage
Became memories of the past.

Those sweet memories of her
Stay with me … forever.
Every time I see the sunset mellow,
I remember her dressed in yellow.

Her number’s still on my speed dial,
My heart’s still somewhere with her;
Can I just pick my love where it fell
And go on that voyage forever?

It has been a while
Since I said ‘hello’,
To the lady who goes
In bright and light yellow.
