Poem: The Lonely Voice

The world is beautiful if we remove humans. Twitter, social media and mainstream media news reek of bias. There is always a call out to cancel, boycott and punish those whose views are different.

Nobody listens, everybody speaks — with hatred. Can we be the only sane and single voice of love in this cacophony of mindless hatred?

Poem: THE LONELY VOICE

I am a little man
With a few words

Yet I shall not be silent
When I see the suffering

The hatred from the holier-than-you
the I-am-right-but-you-are-not

the silence of the wise
guilty yet quiet

Nobody ever learnt from
the colonization and the partition

Nobody ever learnt from
the holocaust and the world wars

We are such poor students
of our own history

by the time we realize
It will be too little, too late

we will be overtaken
by our Frankensteins

Nobody is wrong enough to peel
Everybody has the right to heal

Start with yourself
Break the chain

Break the silence
to stop the violence

Be the only sane and single voice of love
In a cacophony of mindless hatred.
