Poem: The Kiss of the Moon ( Timeless Heaven)
I am more reticent than I thought. But Priya Patel is so good in her poetry and an extrovert — her collaborations with others are a testimony.
This poem, ‘Timeless Heaven’ is inspired by her poem ‘ The Kiss of the Moon’. Here goes her poem.
Poem: Kiss of the Moon
The night becomes bold,
like a full moon
with infinite light,
seeping into my tiniest crevices,
hunting for a dark spot to kiss
The night has a way
of pulling me in,
caressing me with your shadows
I watch you, breathless
as your fingers become alive
dancing on my skin
creating sparks within me
that only the night
could understand
The moonlight kisses me,
scorching my skin
with its bruised lips
Let me sooth your pain
with honey soaked letters
I love how they twist naked,
fragrant souls open,
ready to be dressed with my words
Will you read me?
Will you drink my honey soaked letters
and savor the flavor of my lips
kissed by the moon of the night~ ©️ Priya Patel, July 28, 23 🕉
Poem: Timeless Heaven
I wrote this poem with a lot of skepticism, as Priya’s mastery over touchy-feely love is incomparable. So here it is.
The night air caresses my skin
It smells sweet, much like your breath
Dipped in love and honey
My words as whispers
Like silken sounds
Floating into your ears
Soaked in the sweetness
Of white moon’s milky lightThe setting of explosions faraway
Deep in the universe
By the naughty stars
Winking at us from above
Sprinkling the green bed
Of soft, shy grass
With the morning dewTell me how I will ever miss
Being near you, my dear
Listening to the music of love
Beating in your heart
In our land of milk and honey
If there was ever a timeless heaven
It is just lying near you
Holding hands tight
Feeling your warmth
Whispering the sweet-nothings
Savoring the kiss of the moon.~Ashok Subramanian © 2023
