Poem: Sunset and Sunrise

--

Well, the sun sets and rises. But for some… it would never be the same. Another post by Jacob Berghoef inspires this poem.

Poem: SUNSET AND SUNRISE

AI-generated, still real.

Many kids won’t see the sunset
Others won’t see the sunrise
For those who are alive
Live now in hell
Just rubble and flesh remain
Broken toys and burnt books
Lost arms and limbs
Deaf by the sounds
Blind by the sights
Dumb by the shock
Shock –
That they are orphans
Parents and siblings
Neighbors and strangers
All now gone, forever.
Killed by a stranger
For a reason
they would never know
what the future holds
and on them –
there will be another sunset
and another sunrise.
