My poem ‘It does not make sense at all’ followed Priya Patel’s ‘As Yet, Unknown’.

This is a continuation of our inter-inspirational poetry duet. Inspired by the ‘It does not make sense at all’, she wrote this verse. Let us call this ‘A Cloudy Affair’.

Poem: A Cloudy Affair

Walking on clouds… with hazy eyes and clear hearts

Inspired by Ashok Subramanian

we walk through clouds
hazy eyes and clear hearts
wanting, wishing, needing
reaching for every possible ache
until the air is clear

the dreams become faint
reality rears it’s ugly head
he smiles with devilish eyes
and we want so badly
to live within the clouds

but this is life
here below the dreamy clouds

Poem: Sleepwalking Under A Cloudless Sky

Well, cloudy affairs…lead to a cloudless, azure sky. Reality strikes. Yet, he is sleepwalking… the poet, you know. And… the shadows speaketh his heart.

Cloudless Azure, their mingled shadows pure.

The cloudless sky today, smooth and pure
Should I fall in love with the azure
Both feet are firmly grounded
In the dusty heat of this year’s March

Even shadows need their space
To grow long, short, long, and die
They are silent and they love silence
But…would my heart listen, my dear?

I have never seen myself in my dreams
But the shadows of my heart emerge
When the sun shines bright on me
As I sleepwalk below this cloudless day

I see another shadow merge with mine
Oh, that promise to walk together in time
Even the sunshine cannot separate us now
No walk in the clouds for us, sleepwalkers.
