Poem: Silent Swords

Hypocrisy, lies, greed, and lust for power on one hand, remorseless, callous, purge on the other.

Poem: SILENT SWORDS

Swords slay in silence
Tools of terror –
Raining fire from the sky
Crimson river flows
Filled with the erstwhile fluid of life
Rumbling machine birds above
Rubbles puking grey clouds
A bride so beautiful
A child so innocent
A dreaming young man
A newborn in her mother’s arms
All lay amid the rubble
Searching for the remains
Putting back limbs like a jigsaw
Who cares –
The one on the podium
Claims proactive purge
In the name of protection and peace
In a now perfected pitch
Scratching before the itch
A new neighborhood
Awakes to the sirens
For a new mission is on
If he stops –
His clock starts to tick
Blood in his hands
Grease in his palms
As long as his hands
Hold the sword
He will survive
While the powers keep quiet
And the swords-
Will slay in silence.
