Poem: Rich Smile

I recently came across a poem by Sakshi Arora, a Ph.D. research scholar in English Literature and a talented ‘Ponder’ poet. She has even honored me with her forewords for my anthologies.

In response, I wrote a poem of my own after a pilgrimage trip. I find that writing a response poem is a helpful tool for returning to the creative process.

Poem: Cups of silence

Sakshi Arora, spilling diamonds

A call-
Silent yet loud
Crystals knocked;
Turning around-
I found those empty cups
brimming with words
A flow
An overflow
I sipped slowly
Then consumed it all-
High on love;

Crystals etched
A ride of conversation-
Silent yet loud ❤

My poem was short, but the verse spilled out like the diamonds in her smile.

Poem: RICH SMILE

Did your smile
Just reveal the diamonds
that every lover
has been looking for?

Watch the smile and pick the diamonds. A rich weekend this is.
