Family and love…great. What about those, who have lost their love to time?

Poem: REMNANTS OF LOVE

Love is what makes -
house a home
bonded by blood
or the ones we wed
The ones that we don’t judge
Even if the loved ones don’t budge
We still sweat, bleed, and toil.

But…
that’s textbook love
Who would not do that?
But some remain.

They cannot be read
No visible blood or sweat
or the tears have gone dry
The wounds are gone
balmed by life or
hidden by time
( perhaps not healed?)
…but the scars remain.

Stories never told
How things unfold
Those moments have gone
The unspoken words remain.

Water under the bridge
is gone, certainly, forever
Into the deep salty oceans
Made of lost lover’s tears
The oceans, forever, remain.

For those some who carry-
the scars
the unspoken words
the oceans of tears
it is the suffering of love
that shall, with them, remain.
