Poem: Mood Swings ( of the weather)

This is my second rain poem, as cyclone Michaung forms from a ‘deep depression’ in the Bay of Bengal and may make landfall north of my city in Chennai, India. This poem flows as I see the mood swings of the pre-cyclone weather playing truant.

MOOD SWINGS ( of the weather)

Moods swings of the weather
Gloomy face of the sky
And a bit of sweet tears

Then moments of broody silence
Then the pitter-patter starts
Ripples in puddles
Distorted images of the heavens

Then that sweet, charming shine
Just for a moment
That flash of happiness
even the birds sing sweet
in the momentary spring
a rainbow somewhere
Points to the ground

Folks, heaven is here
The still puddle now clear
A mirror of the blue heavens above

And slowly…
A grey, pregnant foam curtain
Hides the smiling skies

Time for another round of
Gloomy face of the sky
And a bit of sweet tears.
