Poem: Life in Me ( Fall Poem)
Priya Patel’s fascination with Prashant Verma’s photography caught on to me. The poem, in essence, is our first soiree into the autumn ( summer is over, even in Chennai.
The beauty of this photograph. The precise placement, right corner, and the shadow of the red tip. I could write something about that… but here is what happened. Priya wrote a gem.
Poem: Journey
I was never afraid to enter this world,
nor will I be afraid to leave
I am passing through on borrowed time
like a leaf in the gentle breeze
I am leaving crumbs of my existence
along every path I take;
picking up memories as I go,
and when the wind is just right
I will close my eyes tight
and will forever fly away on wings aglow;
like a leaf in the gentle breeze~Priya © 2023
Priya sets our emotions on fire. So I will douse it down with some rhyme here.
POEM: Life in Me
My love for the rich sunlight
Cooking with the rays bright
Kitchen for the Mighty Tree
Fodder for herds that roam free.My dance in the daily breeze
Motions of grace and ease
My part in being the shadow
For those who stood belowFrom the tender greens
Of the spring you’ve seen
To the autumn’s orange and red
The final dance before I lay deadA story that you are familiar
yet you wish I was here
Many of us together on a tree
For another spring you wish to see.-Ashok Subramanian © 2023
I wrote to Priya:
Your poem always rips a page of my book.
Priya responded:
Beautiful. A new story of Fall. Yours is very very soft and has a different take.
Well, that was part of our mutual admiration club.
Priya composed Haiku to take home the cake.
Poem : Golden shivering
the birds have gathered
a seasonal ritual
where the trees cryshivering branches
offering freedom, leaves fly
colorful teardropsready to fall home
a royal ending at last
golden leaves on ground~ ©️ Priya Patel, Sept 9, 23 🕉
