Poem: King’s Attire
How does the King’s Attire look beyond a locked case of airproof glass? A poem may be deserving.
Poem: King’s Attire
Immortal and preserved
Behind an airproof glass case
Separating the passersby, yet
Inviting unknownst stares
The curious, common onlooker
A deep stare from the history buff
Visions of the past gloriesOne day, it was adorned by the King
Revered by a thousand and
Another million waiting in the wingsThe glitter of the gold is mellowed
The silk threads still hold on
The dress, still pristineToday, there is not a King anymore
A royal life begot its loyal servility
The dress is a symbol of the legacyThe curious, common onlooker
Can’t and won’t understand
A deep stare from the history buff
Visualizing the past glories
At the mortal king’s
Once adorned attire now
Immortal and preserved.~Ashok Subramanian © 2024
