Poem: Just Another Place ( Dubai Diaries — 5)

--

My last trip to Dubai resulted in a success but turned out to be a bit disappointing. The setback took a lot out of me emotionally, but this time, we are back, with a series of meetings looking for small wins.

Poem: JUST ANOTHER PLACE

In Spinneys Supermarket, Dubai

This time, there is no glitz or glamor

Santa and Xmas trees are on

The serial lights blink

My mind goes back to October

The promise of a future

Lost back in my homeland

This trip, it is win by a thousand cuts

Moves like the minute hand

One second at a time

But this feels awake and real

Sleeps are dreamless

Making the minutes count

I don’t look for the stars

Marhaba city is just

Another business place.
