Poem: Journey Home

--

I just caught the train from Bengaluru to Chennai. I settle down and look around. Something is odd. And…

Poem: JOURNEY HOME

Empty coach with old people, a mellowed sunset.

There is something odd
about this train coach.
Mostly empty seats.
Only a couple and
then two business travelers.
The rest are all old people.
I am reading ‘Autumn Light’
Chapters of autumn and farewells.
And I look outside…
the mellowed yellow
of the sunset in the west
The reflection of my selfie camera
The greys have become whites
And…
I just remember…
this is my journey home.
