Poem: Hope vs Fear

--

Today the world’s oldest democracy votes. One side instills fear, and the other side feeds hope.

Poem: Hope vs Fear

All I can do is wait
And I have to kill my time
The choice between
Hope or fear
Fear of the colors

That lady holding the torch
Once the color of autumn
Soaking in the elements
Now in the color of spring
Spring is the season of hope
For those who passed her by
Landing on the shores of the City
Empty stomachs and pockets
But still, filled with hope
Of Freedom and Opportunity

Today —
Remember, Remember
The Fifth of November
The world watches
If they choose fear
Or vote for hope
and-
the lady holding the torch
has something to be proud of.
