Poem: Flying Away

I want to fly away, my friend. I don’t want to look back. Just like the dandelions. The plant is a weed, which I want to part with. That is my past, my time with you. Yet… Yet, I am here.

Poem: FLYING AWAY

I tried to fly away
Just away, somehow
From this time and place

A dandelion in the air
Flying away but caught
They still call it a weed

A few moments later
And a few miles thereon
I come back again

The reason I can’t fathom
Maybe I have to reconcile
That my destiny is here and now

Some words are yet to be spoken
Or do we need just more time together?
Just the comfort of closeness

You laugh and celebrate
The moment I leave and go away
That I don’t want to come back

Then what brings me back to this
Frozen time and frosty silence
And those sharp side glances

Maybe I deserve this suffering
The shadows of our past
Leaning into my present

The weight that I carry
With no wind beneath my wings
I return because I am tired

I don’t have the strength anymore
To fly away, just away, somehow
From this time and place.
