Poem: Finding Hope in Broken Shells
A walk along the seashore late evening along the Besant Nagar Beach. A simple, uncut version of the verses is here.
Poem: Finding Hope in Broken Shells
The frothy waves are met with silence
As they cheerily woo the sandy shore
Moments of hope as they ebb and weave
Moments of heartbreak, broken into bubbles
The story of my life played over and over
Yet, something calming about the waves
Their enthusiastic embrace of my bare feet
Spreading the little hope, with which they repeat
Washing away my footprints on the beach sand
A fresh start, all over, forming a new band
There is no other way, they seem to say
Anonymous broken shells on our way
Buried stories of the past, but so beautiful
When strung together, a magical tale told
Necklaces to wristbands, in minutes, are sold
The deep waters meet the sky, hiding the sun
Deep inside their womb, an orange baby to be born
Bubbly waves beneath, the sky above breaks into dawn.
Hope is letting go of the heartbreak and starting all over
A walk along the seashore helped me so remember.
