However hard and cold is the heart today, it did melt like chocolate for somebody, sometimes, somewhere for everybody. There is no escape from love.

Poem: EVERYBODY LOVES SOMEBODY

Everybody loves somebody, somewhere, sometime — Image by HANSUAN FABREGAS from Pixabay

Everybody is in love with somebody
If not every time, surely sometimes
Somebody once in a lifetime
Somebody through a lifetime

Beside the sternum, inside the ribcage
The little bird of life in everybody
Yearns for the love of somebody
For that, somebody shall set it free

A bit of glimpse, a bit of touch
And a tentative meeting of lips
The key to somebody’s heart
Setting the little birdie free

Moments and thoughts filled
The world outside forgotten
The heartbeat is like music
For the love makes life dance

A minute becomes a millennium
A yard becomes a furlong
Distance and time distorted
Illogical is the heart forlorn.

A thousand ships have sailed
A million men have died
For two hearts to unite
In this topsy-turvy world

Distance may have come
And some distance gone
Timeless memories of love
Printed in the sands of time

Somewhere the universe
ties everybody with somebody
pulling their heartstrings
entangling them in a knot

Everybody is in love with somebody
If not every time, surely sometimes
Somebody once in a lifetime
Somebody through a lifetime
