Poem: Dreams — Stories Told
This poem is inspired by Priya’s poem ‘In Dreams, I Dream’. How about dreams being stories told? That is an interesting take.
Poem: DREAMS — STORIES TOLD
Losing the will to live
Breathing, an effort
Slumber keeps us going
Embracing an inert existence
A dreamless sleep
To avoid the effort to dreamStill the qualms about
The Birth of Universe —
Is there any doubt on
How our dreams manifest
Into those universes
That is born and bloom
Colorful canvases
Of hope and love
Yet dissipate and dissolve
Like they were a dreamWe want to touch that moment
That we are part of —
Just feel and experience
Just breathe it in
No stardust to inhale
Still, this moment is real
Yet it is a dream
So near, yet far… so afarOur thoughts and characters
Stories that we are part of
Or tales that we listen to
A drama unfolds —
A scene, an act at a time
The twists and turns in the
Stories of suffering, suffocation, and surrender
Characters blabber, weep and bleed
We cry, cackle, and crack in laughter
End of it all, it is –
Another story is being told.

Here is Priya’s poem that inspired me. Her dreams have dreams, that have dreams. An endless journey into multiple dream-verses.
Poem: In dreams, I dream
I somehow fell asleep
and awoke in the deep of night
Just me and the silence
bouncing off my thoughts
waiting for some type of light
I would welcome almost anything
to keep me company from my dreams
so I wouldn’t feel so alone
when nothing is as it seems
Even sleep for me is a dream;
wanting but not getting
exhausted but fretting
scared of the night
of losing the light
that keeps my hope at bay
I’m praying that soon,
when I least expect it,
my dreams will finally take me away~ ©️ Priya Patel, Aug 24, 24 🕉
