December 2021 — she left me. I have been writing about butterflies a lot, since then. Check out my banner.

I did not mind till Priya Patel inspired me with her poem and I wrote a comment in the lines of butterfly, caterpillar, and cocoon.

As the night wore on, I had this niggle, so wrote this poem.

Poem: Butterfly, I shall be

Some say I acquired
your hidden genius
Your nose and eyes
that divine smile
But…
I was just the sapling
buried under the darkness
deep inside you.
I was buried in the hope
That you nurtured and fostered
A version of me
Like a caterpillar in a cocoon
Supplied with love and strength
Only to take wings
To become a beautiful butterfly
A human though I am
Flawed yet perfect for you
Like how each butterfly should feel
I shall feel that I am perfect
And I got to do
what I can…
Just to be the butterfly
You thought I would be.
